An Evening with Ornette Coleman Vol. 2 - Ornette Coleman

Recorded in Croydon, London in 1965. Prior to the event the British Musician’s Union which placed reciprocal quotas on foreign musicians, informed Coleman that the jazz quota was full whereas the classical was not. This experimental album was the response featuring Coleman on violin amongst other instruments.

Vol 1 and Vol 2 feature music from the first interval onwards due to Union stipulations where poetry supported by musicians by the Mike Taylor quartet performed.

Side A1 of Vol 2 contains a very fast piece introducing Coleman the violinist and the trumpeter
